Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2021 Keystone Passport SL 239ML

Published 03/12/2026

Question:

I have a 2011 F-150 Ecoboost Supercab with HDPP and Max Tow package. Truck is leveled at 1.5inch with 34inch tires. Im towing a 2021 Keystone Passport SL 239ML. Will be doing frequent trips this summer with varying ranges. Would this be a good product to look at? Im debating whether I need this or if Im okay just buying a hitch.

Hey Riley, the best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off the loaded tongue weight of the trailer. I looked up your 2021 Keystone Passport SL 239ML and it's going to have a tongue weight of around 600 lbs so Curt TruTrack 2p part # C95MJ would be a great option that is rated properly.

So any time the trailer weighs more than 50 percent of the towing capacity of the vehicle it's a great idea to use a WD system as it will reduce sag but also improve handling and braking. So in your situation you would be over that number and it would be a great idea. Have you towed with your setup yet?

I have, but it was pulling it through 25-30mph winds with a straight shank right after we bought it. Did have a little trailer sway but it was manageable, didn't know if it was more because of the weight/length or not being closer to level

@RileyS probably a little of both but mostly due to the trailer not being level and the winds. But it depends on how far out of level you were.
