I have a 2020 Chevy Colorado zr2. Will be flat towing with a 2020 newmar ventana. What all will I need to do that? Thanks

Hey Ray, thanks for the information! To flat tow your 2020 Chevy Colorado ZR2 you will need the following parts:

Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar item # e94ZR

Baseplate Kit - etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit item # e98966

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit item # RM-15267

Battery Disconnect - Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for Towed Vehicle item # RM-766 for a gas engine item # RM93MR for a diesel engine

Supplemental Braking System - Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI94FR for a permanent install or the Curt RVi Series 4 Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI44FR for a portable system.

Please note you will also need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit item # RM-751472 if you go with a permanently installed like item # RVI94FR. This makes sure your braking system isn't applying when it's not supposed to.

High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.

Hi Jerrid, I'm sorry I told you a 2020 Colorado. It is a 2018, with the v6. It has the normal cruise control. Automatic transmission.

@RayM That's ok! The 2018 Colorado is the same generation as the 2020 so the parts are all going to be the same. So long as yours is a 4WD and not the ZR2 Bison you'll be all set with the parts I listed above.

@RayM The Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI94FR is going to be installed underneath your hood and have components that connect to your Colorado's brake pedal. You'll just need to turn it on when you're ready to head out on your trip. The Curt RVi Series 4 Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI44FR will need to be set up and broken down when you are towing your truck. It will sit on the floor board of your Colorado and the only installed part will be the breakaway kit. They're both proportional braking systems that are going to slow and stop your Colorado with the same amount of force your Newmar is using to slow or stop. Yes how about you plate fit perfectly on my 2017 Chevy Colorado which I just sold recently so I do not have anymore looked great works great no problems.
