  • Will Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13172 you referenced comes with all of the hardware needed to install it. This trailer hitch is compatible with all 2017 Jeep Cherokee models so it will fit your Latitude. In fact, the attached installation video and photo is on this trailer hitch installed on a 2017 Jeep Latitude. If you let me know what you plan on using the trailer hitch for I can make additional recommendations if necessary.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Non-Trailhawk 2018 Jeep Cherokee
The Draw-Tite # DT28MR will only fit Trailhawk models, as they have a different rear bumper. If you attempted to install it on a non-Trailhawk model the bumper would get in the way and prevent you from installing it. For a non-Trailhawk 2018 Jeep Cherokee, I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13172. When installed, the hitch will be mostly concealed behind the bumper with the only visible portions of the hitch being the square receiver tube and the safety chain hoops. The installation...

  • How To Determine Tongue Weight Capacity for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk
Unless otherwise noted your tongue weight capacity would be 450 lbs as the tongue weight capacity for a vehicle is almost always 10 percent of the total trailer weight it can tow. I attached a couple FAQ articles on towing to the right that you might find informative as well.

  • Battery Dies After Installing Curt Harness # C56208 On My Vehicle
There could be a few reasons that is causing your battery to drain after installing The Curt Harness # C56208. I recommend first testing to see if you have a bad converter box. While the fuse is in place, test the 4-way flat connector on the harness without any vehicle lights on using The Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993. You will need to test each pin. If you're getting a constant power at any of the pins with the vehicle lights off, then the converter box is bad and would need to be...

  • How Much Can My 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Tow When Curt Hitch # C13172 Is Installed
Even though the Curt Hitch # C13172 is rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds since your vehicle is rated for 4,500 pounds that is the max you can tow. You're only as strong as your weakest component. The Curt trailer hitch has a bolt on installation and has a gloss black powder coat finish that will offer you superior rust resistance. I like this hitch because it is manufactured in The USA. To tow a trailer you will also need a trailer wiring harness. If your vehicle already has the factory...

  • Will the Curt Hitch part # C13172 and part # C13171 Have Same Ground Clearance
Both the Curt hitch part # C13172 and the part # C13171 will sit right under the rear bumper of a 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee when installed so one would not have any more ground clearance than the other. The biggest difference between the two is that the # C13172 has a hidden cross tube so it would be less visible when installed. I attached an install video for you to check out for this hitch.

I took a look at the online copy of the owner's manual for a 2019 Jeep Cherokee and no matter what engine you have if you do NOT have the Trailer Tow Package the maximum trailer weight you can tow is 2,000 lbs. If you DO have the Trailer Tow Package and have a 2.0L engine your capacity is 4,000 lbs and if you have a 3.2L your capacity is 4,500 lbs. • Class III Hitch for 2019 Cherokee Latitude That Requires No Trimming of Fascia or Bumper Cover
For your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude we have two Class III hitch fits from Curt, parts # C13172 and # C13171. We recently had the chance to install hitch # C13171 on a 2017 Cherokee and that video is linked for your reference. This specific hitch is a less-invasive install than the other but I did contact Curt technical to make certain that no trimming of the bumper cover or rear fascia is needed to mount this on your Cherokee. You'll want the hitch # C13171.

If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. The closest thing we have to that is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13172. It comes through the fascia but sits slightly below the dual exhaust on a 2015 Jeep Cherokee as you can see in the attached picture and installation video. This is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2" receiver which is best for towing and for use with other accessories. If you are ever in doubt about the towing capacity of the vehicle then there is a sure fire way to tell and you will not need to know any of the options the vehicle is equipped with in order to do so. This process includes opening the driver door and looking for a white sticker. This sticker will have a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) figure. If you take the GVWR and subtract that from the GCWR then that will give you the maximum gross trailer...

It is custom fit for your 2015 Jeep Trailhawk and has a gross trailer weight of 5,000 pounds and maximum tongue weight of 750 pounds. When you see "with trailer tow package" in the owner's manual for the 2015 Jeep Cherokee it is referring to the factory tow package for that vehicle. Factory tow packages vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but it does mean more than just have a hitch and wiring installed. When towing, you're always going to be limited by the lowest rated component in your towing setup. You'll want to consult your owner's manual and your Jeep dealer, but it looks like from my research that your 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited without the factory towing package has a towing capacity of 2000-lbs. If you have the 3.2L engine and the Trailer Tow Package, the vehicle can tow up to 4500 lbs/450 lbs tongue weight.
