Does Stealth Hitch SH52VR For 2017 BMW X5 Come With Installation Tools?

Question:

Im going to purchase a tow hitch for a 2017 BMW X5 from you. Im going to do the installation myself. Does the product come with an installation kit? Im very concerned about not having the right tools to safely remove the bumper. Do you offer a plastic bumper removal kit?

Hey Nick, thanks for reaching out. The Stealth Hitch # SH52VR is the correct hitch for your 2017 BMW X5. The hitch comes with all necessary installation hardware, but it does not come with any tools. The installation is a bit involved since you have to remove the bumper, but it can be done DIY with a bit of patience and know-how.

For removing the bumper, your best bet will be a trim removal tool like part # PT73HJ or # PT56WJ. That will help you pry things off without damaging or breaking anything. Aside from that you'll just need a good set of sockets, a watchet with extension, wrenches and a torque wrench.

Thanks Jesse! I'm going to use it for a bike rack. If I want to tow something do I need additional hardware?

@NickR Nope! The # SH52VR hitch comes with the towing kit. You get the rack receiver, ball mount attachment and wiring harness - everything you need. You will not need to buy any additional parts or hardware for towing.
