Does the toilet seat itself soft close or just the lid?

Hi Tim!

Good question. I'm not sure why we say lid so much on the page and in the videos, but I can definitely say both the seat and the lid will both have that soft close feature. I am going to see if I can get our page updated to show that more clearly as it is kind of confusing with how it is currently worded. Sorry about that.

Which model 310 are you wanting to install this on? It fits a couple and I can confirm the fit if you would like.

I purchased this for my Dometic 310 and both the seat and lid is slow close.

Hi Tim, Yes, both the seat and lid are soft-close. I had to replace mine after leaning back and cracking the hinge. The hinge contains a thick, heavy liquid, which allows the lid and seat to close softly. Respectfully, Don S

@DonS Interesting! I haven't taken one of these apart, so I figured there was a spring system that was closing them slowly. Thanks for confirming!

We have the Dometic porcelain toilet, and the seat fits perfect. Soft close on both seat and lid, sturdy. We would buy again, but don't need to because this one should last about 15 years !!!
