Question:

What springs would I need for my trailer. It measures 26 1/4” from center of eye to center of eye on trailer. Do not have old springs to measure them. Axle is a single axle 3500 Dexter.

Hey Lamar. Since your spring hangers are 26 1/4” apart you'll need leaf springs an inch shorter to allow for the shackle movement. I recommend the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles item # e54SR. This is a 25-1/4" long leaf spring designed for a 3,500 lbs axles. The spring has 4-leafs for support and is sold individually.

To replace your shackles and wet bolts, you can use the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Upgrade Kit for Single Axle Trailers item # K71-358-00. This kit comes with greaseable wet bolts to make routine maintenance easy. The shackle straps are 3-1/8" long from the center of the mounting holes.

What kind of trailer do you have?

I’ve purchased many items from etrailer over the last 11 years including building a jeep trailer from scratch. Recently I purchased the leaf spring kits from them and everything was perfect. It all fit and allowed me to get my broken down trailer back h9me. I trust etrailer and as long as I give them enough and correct info of my problem or needs, they’ve always steered me right. I’ll use them again and again.
