Looking for Replacement Grease Seal for 7k Curt Axle of Brinkley

Updated 02/16/2026 | Published 02/10/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a 7K Curt Axle on my Brinkley and plan to repack the bearing this spring. I am looking for the correct seal kit and have conflicting information. Lippert says I need a seal with an O.D. of 3.72 and the ones I am finding on your website state 3.8. I tried to paste my axle tag but not able. The serial is S012935026 and item is 2024057104.

Hey Scott, for a Curt 7k axle the replacement grease seal would be the part # GS-2250DL which has an outer diameter of 3.38 inches which I think you might have dropped off a number in the number you listed. This is close enough to the number Lippert told you would work and work great. Did you blow out a seal or are you doing some hub maintenance?

Thanks Jameson, Yes, I fat fingered and didn’t proof read - it was 3.38. I didn’t blow a seal (that I know of), just doing my annual repack and the Brinkley is new to us so was looking for the correct parts. Thanks for your help

I also use the GS-2250DL and it is still on my 5th wheel. It is still sealing my bearing with no problems. I did upgrade to 8k axles and I’ll be charging all my bearings and seals within the next 2 months.

The best way to do it is to precisely measure the inside diameter of the housing. The size of the seal will be .001 less than your measurement. When installing the seal, the open end goes in first. It will collapse to tightly fit the opening. The outer, closed end will be stouter due to the extra metal. The housing is slightly tapered at the end, so the seal must be set in a little past flush, past this taper. If the bearing and the seal are the same OD, the seal may go in too far. Not enough and the seal will come back out. too much and it will not contact the surface of the shaft. Better systems utilize 2 IDs, the inner, smaller one for the bearing, and a larger one for the seal. In this case, install the seal all in to the step.

@LenY OOPS, Sorry. The OD of the seal will be equal to or .001 LARGER than the opening
