Timken Double Lip Grease Seal To Replace Grease Seal # GS-2250DL

Updated 06/17/2025 | Published 05/09/2024

Question:

Hello. I’m looking at bearing seals for my trailer. Current units are GS-2250DL. Do you carry a National/Timken double lip equivalent? I see you have 452920/482920 from National/Timken. The specs look equivalent but it’s not listed as a substitute on your cross reference chart for the GS-2250DL. You do show 442109 from National/Timken as a substitute but according to the Timken catalog that’s a “type 44” design and single lip. Help! It’s getting confusing. Thanks for your time

You can use the Timken Grease and Oil Seal # TMK98ZR in place of the Grease Seal # GS-2250DL. While they are not exactly the same seal construction it is still a double lip design and the dimensions are the same so they are going to fit correctly.

Can the GS 2250 DL be replaced with a Duralast 412920? Thanks

@Gary I checked the specs on the Duralast 412920 and it is the same as the GS 2250 DL 2.250" ID - 3.376" OD. We have a Timken Grease and Oil Seal - Double Lip - I.D. 2.250" / O.D. 3.376" - 452920/482920 # TMK98ZR which will be an excellent upgrade!
