Recommended Class V Hitch for a 2010 Suburban 2500

Published 02/05/2026

Question:

I’m not sure if it’s a search issue or something else…is there a Curt or similar high quality class V hitch for a 2010 Suburban 2500?

Hey Victor, welcome back. There are no custom fit aftermarket hitches available for a 2010 Chevy Suburban 2500. The factory hitch on your SUV was built into the rear bumper so none of our vendors made a replacement for it.

To add a class V hitch you'll need to go with a universal option. The Draw-Tite item # 41990-07 is going to be the best option. It's a class V hitch with a 2" receiver. The included drop brackets can be welded or bolted directly to your Suburban's frame.

What are you needing a class V hitch for? The 2010 Suburban 2500's towing capacity tops out at 9,600 lbs.

My mistake after some research, I need a class IV, not class V. The hitch sustained some minor damage and wanted to replace it. Looks like it is bolt on to the bumper/frame.

@VictorH Right on! The Draw-Tite item # 41990-07 is still going to be my only option. Just wanted to point out how high of a capacity it has compared to what your Suburban is capable of. We get a surprising amount of people who think adding a massive hitch will increase their vehicle's towing capacity.
