Can Furrion Chill Cube RV AC Unit Install in Cargo Trailer
Updated 03/04/2026 | Published 02/04/2026 >
Question:
Good Morning, To your knowledge has anyone installed a Chill Cube on a cargo trailer? Im in the HVAC wholesale industry and a customer asked about installing a mini-split system on it. I thought the Furrion might be a better option. Thoughts? 8 x 24 x 7H dual axle trailer w/30A electric.

Hey Rob, while I've not heard of someone specifically installing the Furrion Chill Cube like the part # FR59TD in a cargo trailer you definitely can as it's simply a matter of putting up some wood framing around the 14 inch square opening to allow the system to install. My Dad actually has a similar setup installed in his cargo trailer and that all it took. The reason for this is that RVs have thicker roofs than utility trailers so some space is needed. The part # FR59TD would be the ideal setup since it comes with an air box designed for non-ducted applications like what you have.

Hey Rob, how did the Furrion Chill Cube end up working out for that cargo trailer setup? It’d be great to hear if the framing approach made the install go smoothly. Your update could make it easier for others considering the same system.
