Will The Inno Shaper 80 Roof Cargo Basket INXA568 Fit A Rhino Rack Roof Rack On A Honda CR-V?

Updated 02/04/2026 | Published 02/01/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a 2016 Honda CRV and I have installed the Rhino Rack Rvp Roof Rack - Vortex Aero Bar on the fixed mounting points. It appears the crossbars are around 31 inches apart center of crossbar to center of crossbar. Would the Inno Shaper INXA568 roof basket fit on my vehicle and crossbars? Would you have a suggestion for a cargo bag I could attach to this basket? I am looking for something to carry some light but bulky cargo gear I dont think the total cargo weight would likely exceed 80 pounds.

Hi Elliott!

The Inno Shaper 80 Roof Cargo Basket - Channel Mount - Aluminum - 46-1/2" x 32-1/2" # INXA568 will definitely fit on your 2016 Honda CR-V. It fits a crossbar spread of 20" to 35", so with you having 31", you are good to go! It will also have no issues going into those slots on top of your Rhino Rack Vortex bars.

With the interior dimensions being 41-3/8" long x 30" wide, we do have a few options for bags that would fit this very well and I have those listed below:

Rightline Ace Jr Rooftop Cargo Bag - Water Resistant - 10 cu ft - 36" x 30" x 16" # RL100A50
CargoSmart Soft-Sided Car Top Carrier - Water Resistant - 10 cu ft - 36" x 30" x 16" # CS44FR

These are pretty similar to each other, but I have had some experience with Rightline products and do like their build quality. Not saying there is anything wrong with CargoSmart, but I just prefer Rightline. I think either would serve you quite well.

On that note, what will you be carrying? Always curious when people are looking at stuff like this.

Thank you for the quick reply! I primarily plan to carry light-yet-bulky camping gear like a sleeping bag, tent, cooking gear and camp pad. I'd also probably look to carry some components of my inflatable kayak such as fins and an air pump. I live in Florida so rain, and various other extreme weather conditions, are an issue. So, I've been trying to decide between a roof basket and bag set-up like this and a hard shell design like the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Rooftop Cargo Box (14 cu. ft) model. Thanks again.

@ElliottG Nice! Being in Florida, I think I would definitely go with the Rightline. It is a little more expensive, but their stuff actually does better than most others in the sun and is actually UPF 50 rated. I couldn't find a rating for the CargoSmart bag. And to the roof box, they will always be more secure and weather resistant. Hard plastic always is. The Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Black # Y07192 is also a very nice box, especially for the money. That said, it is quite a bit more expensive than going with the Inno basket. I also think baskets are a little more versatile as you technically don't have to stay inside the confines of said basket like you do with a box, but being able to lock the box is a pretty big plus. I know that probably didn't help with any indecisions you are having (sorry about that), but let me know if you have any other questions or anything! : )
