Hey, Mark!
This is a really common question we get so I can definitely can help out. The Timbren kit like part # TDRTT1500 are really good if your truck is under a constant load. When it's not it can cause for your unloaded ride to be hard and sometimes uncomfortable, especially if you drive over a pot hole or on a rough road.
An air bag kit like part # AL57375 will have minimal affect on your day to day drive since you can adjust the PSI in the airbags. You always want to maintain 5 PSI in the airbags to prevent any damage to the bags themselves. You don't have to have an onboard compressor like part # AL25980EZ if already have something you could use. If not the Air Lift WirelessAIR is the perfect compressor to use along with the Air Lift air bags.
I went ahead and linked install videos for all these parts so you can have a look at how they install. They are super helpful if you are a DIYer and want to do the install yourself.
Are you doing any other type of hauling with your 1500 or just mainly towing your camper with some light hauling when needed?

Hey mark, I have used the timbren system on a fifteen hundred towing a similar size trailer. In my experience , the truck not under load does not engage the timb. It floats about an inch or so above the axle. The timber does not engage until you have five hundred to a thousand pounds on the tow ball. All in all it works good. On a different truck , I did install airbag system and it was a lot of work To install and the constant checking it, maintaining air pressure, etc.Was not for me. The timberen is a one and done solution which I do prefer.
