Hi, My father has a 1967 Streamline Duke Trailer in storage at a distance from where he lives. Wed like to replace the tires and wheels. Can you advise on a good replacement for the current tires including the wheels/rims? Some details on the tire are: Saxon Premium Highway 7.00-15 LT 6 PR C JDNV BAJ526 On the rim/wheel: GYR5515 TS There are 6 bolts/lugs and the holes are opposite one another Thanks for your time and help!

Hello Luisa, thanks for reaching out.
The 7.00-15 tire size is an older, bias-ply size that really isn’t used much anymore. It measures roughly 29 inches tall and about 7 inches wide. From what you described, it also sounds like your wheels use a 6-lug pattern, which today typically means 6 on 5-1/2 inches.
There isn’t an exact modern replacement, but a commonly used alternative is the Provider ST205/75R15 Trailer Tire with Silver Mod Wheel – 6 on 5-1/2 # TA87VR. This setup is about 27 inches in diameter, which would lower the trailer by roughly 1 inch, and it’s about 8 inches wide, so it would sit approximately 1/2 inch closer to the frame on each side.
Those differences are usually manageable, but I typically do recommend double-checking clearance at the frame, suspension, and fenders anytime you change tire sizes. That’s the best way to be sure the new setup will fit without issues. Again, the difference should be workable, but looking at the trailer is really the only way to absolutely confirm. Especially since the trailer is so old.

Hi Jesse. Thanks for your reply. From visual inspection of my trailer photos, it seems that losing 1 inch of height would be OK. Would a ST225/75R15 tire with 6 on 5-1/2 inches such as #KE72EV, #KE63JV, or #KE62EV, also be an acceptable replacement?
