Question:
hello,I have a 2006 nissan frontier, with v6 engine, going to be towing a trailer with it, ,the truck is a 4x4,and has a cooler allready, however the trailer will be around 3000 pounds or so, so need the biggest one i can get for the job. Can i use the stock one? or should i use the the d13501 unit? will be going up some long hot hills, and mountains. And can i replace the present cooler, or leave it in ,and also run it through the stock unit.?I am also going to need the tow hitch, and 7 pin plug, and kits for the install, also trailer brake unit. can you recommend what parts i will need? thanks

What I would recommend you do is find the biggest cooler that will fit in the available space in front of your radiator and install it along with the factory cooler of your 2006 Nissan Frontier. This way you will maximize the cooling of your transmission fluid. The Derale Cooler part # D13501 is 11" Wide x 5-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep.
I attached an FAQ article on transmission coolers as well as an install video for you to check out also.
For a hitch I would recommend the Draw-Tite part # 75282.
For ball mounts I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag.
For trailer wiring you would want the Curt wiring harness part # C56225.
To convert to a 7-way and install a brake controller you would want the installation kit part # ETBC7.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
