Availability of Spare Tire Mount for 2025 Trailer King Boat Trailer With 6.5" Tall Frame

Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 12/14/2025

Question:

Hello, I am looking for a galvanized spare tire bracket for a 6 lug tire for a Trailer King 2025 boat trailer. The problem I have is the polished aluminum I-beam is 6.5” tall and 4” wide and I have not found a bracket for this size. Do you offer anything for this size frame? Thank you, Steve

Hey Steve! What you can use is the Tie Down Spare Tire Mount # TD86FR. This fits frames up to 8" tall, is galvanized, and is compatible with 6-lug wheels. The one thing you will need to do is pick up longer bolts at your local hardware store to accommodate the width of your frame. It looks like another customer grabbed some 5-1/2" bolts and they worked well for their 4" wide frame.

What kind of boat do you have?

Thanks Robin. I saw that bracket and it looks good for what I am trying to do. Thought you may offer longer bolts or the like for larger trailers. Pulling a Chaparral 287 SSX. Steve

@SteveV that's a nice looking boat! Unfortunately, we don't have the longer bolts. The only time we carry bolts like that is if the manufacturer specifically offers a kit for it, which in this case they do not.

I purchased two new 15X" 6-lug tires and rims and the TD86FR spare tire mount for a used Bayliner I recently purchased. The old tires were dry-rotted and rims were rusted. I used one of the old, tires as the spare. The TD86FR mount worked perfectly, even with the swing away frame of my trailer. As you can see from the pics, there TD86FR mounting brackets are designed to work with just about anything withing the trailer frame dimensions specified, as long as you have the room on the trailer to mount the spare tire. I tried to atch photos, but was unable. Will email photos of installation separately, if requested. Steve B.
