Will Tie Down Spare Tire Mount Hardware Fit a 4" Thick Trailer Frame?

Question:
My Shorelander boat trailer frame is 6 inches tall and 4 inches thick. Im a little concerned the bolts wont quite be long enough.

Hey Steve!
The bolts that come with the Tie Down Spare Tire Mount # TD86FR are 1/2”-13 x 4-1/2” so you'll definitely be pushing the limits with a 4" wide frame. The nice thing is that you can easily find longer bolts at your local hardware or home improvement store.
Most spare tire mounts are designed for trailer frames that are up to 3" wide, so you'll have to get replacement hardware for basically any spare tire kit you end up going with.
Do you already have the spare tire as well?
