Spare Tire Mount For Scout Boat Trailer

Updated 02/20/2026 | Published 02/17/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a Scout 17.5 center console boat and trailer. I need some way to carry the spare tire so that I can attach it to my trailer. What kind of options do you offer? Thanks!

Hi Willy!

The CE Smith Spare Tire Mount # CE22007Z-11050-2 is one of our most popular options for boat trailers. It can be mounted above the frame, on the side of the frame, or even under the frame, so it's pretty versatile. It can be a little difficult to actually put the wheel on it though, so it isn't always my first choice though.

I tend to like things like the Tie Down Spare Tire Mount # TD86FR. This is more heavy duty and can carry 4 bolt, 5 bolt, and 6 bolt wheels (the CE Smith can only carry 4 bolt and 5 bolt wheels). I also think this style of carrier is easier to mount the wheel on. You just need to make sure you have the room for it to be mounted.

I know Scout boats are typically used for fishing, though I did know a guy that had one and just used it for speeding around a lake (thing had 4 outboards on it from what I remember and it really moved). What are you using yours for? Any trips coming up?
