Will Curt 7-Way Trailer Adapter Fix Lamp Out Message on 2019 Ford F-250

Updated 11/30/2025 | Published 11/27/2025

Question:

I have a 2019 F-250 that every so often tells me the right turn lamp on my 2020 Airstream Globetrotter is out. It never is. The issue usually corrects itself or if I dont want to wait, I unplug the trailer, plug it back in and the problem is typically gone. It typically pops up while driving down the road, but in a few miles goes away/corrects itself. Could the issue this is meant to fix be the problem? Trying to decide if I should try this or not. Thanks, Jim

Hey Jim! If you have LED lights it could be that they aren't pulling enough power and that is what is setting off the message on the dash. The 7-Way Trailer Adapter for Towing Trailers with LED Lights # C57003 has built-in resistors so it would fix that issue. However, if you have some kind of damage/corrosion on your connector, or a short/loose wiring, that could also be the cause. The adapter will not fix any of those issues.

Have you checked out the connectors on your F-250 and Airstream to make sure they're in good shape?

Thanks Robin H. Yes, I've checked all the connections out and regularly cleaned them, etc. It's literally totally random, which is why I thought maybe the LED bulbs in this case as well. Thanks again!

@JimS yeah it is really hard to say since it isn't consistently happening. Could even be a loose connection behind the light itself and occasionally movement causes it to shift and lose power.
