Can Roadmaster Wiring Kit Transfer From 2019 F-150 to 2024 F-150

Updated 12/11/2025 | Published 11/25/2025

Question:

About 3 years ago I purchased a complete towing package for my 2019 F150 V6. I installed it myself and all went well with help from the many videos available. I have now purchased a 2024 F150 V6 Lariat and find that I need different baseplates. Is the RM-45EQ the new replacement. Is it compatible with my RM-676 tow bar? Also I had purchased the 4 diode wiring kit and removed it all for reuse. Is this Ok? This time I plan on using one of your partner installers for baseplate installation. If all this is correct I will order what I need ASAP. Thanks

Hey David, congratulations on the new truck! Yes, the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM45EQ is compatible with your Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-676. As long as you have everything from the kit the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring # RM-152 can be transfered over and used on your new F-150.

Will you still be using your Brake Buddy Classic 3 # HM39494? If you left anything on the old F-150 you may need the Second Vehicle Kit # BB59SR and you will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400.

I attached some installation videos below if you're still considering doing it yourself and want to take a look. I also added a link for local installers, you just need to enter your zip code. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out in the comments below.

Hey David, how did the setup with the new Roadmaster base plate on your 2024 F-150 turn out? Were you able to reuse your diode wiring kit without any issues? Your update could make it easier for others upgrading to a newer F-150.

I had my truck dealer install the new baseplates 4 days ago. That all went fine except they forgot to install the new bracket for wiring system mtg so I need to see if I can install the bracket with the bumper reinstalled! I’m doing the wiring myself since I saved everything from my old truck. Right now I’m just waiting for warmer weather to do it! I’ll update you when I’m finished with the rest of the install. Thanks
