Does 2012 Ford Edge with Hopkins Lighting Kit HM56001 Need Brake Light Relay

I am installing the Hopkins wiring kit HM 56001, Is the brake light relay needed for 2012 ford edge

Hey Scott, we had to install the brake light relay part # RM-88400 in a 2011 Ford Edge when we installed tow bar lighting and supplemental braking so yes I would assume you would need it too. If your braking system applies the vehicle brake pedal then you for sure will need the relay as the # HM56001 controls the vehicle taillights.
