2" Hitch Bike Rack To Carry 2 Lectric Xpedition Cargo Ebikes And Small Mountain Bike

Published 11/17/2025

Question:

I’ve got two Lectric XPedition cargo e-bikes and a small mountain bike for my kid. Is the Epos 3 with lights strong enough for that mix? each electric bike is like 65lbs with batteries removed for transport.

It sure is, Nick. Each position on the # TH34FR44SR supports up to 75 lbs, with a 160-lb total if that makes sense. Your two Lectrics that are about 65 lbs each and a kid’s bike will fit that perfectly. Just spread the heavier ones closest to the vehicle for best balance. The pivoting frame arms can grab the cargo frames securely without touching fenders or baskets.

If you ever add fat-tire e-bikes, grab the XXL strap kit # TH985101 which allows up to 5 inch tires. What’s your wheelbase on the Lectrics? The rack fits up to 53 inch wheelbases (my research says yours will fit just fine but it never hurts to doublecheck).

Awesome, thanks! One more thing - those Lectrics are pretty wide. Will there be enough space between them so the handlebars or pedals don’t hit each other?

@Nick Good question, Nick. The Epos # TH34FR44SR gives you about 9-13/16" between trays, and the arms pivot so you can offset the bikes a bit if the bars or pedals are close. Most Lectric XPeditions fit fine if you alternate handlebar directions like you're supposed to on any bike rack. I checked out the unique design of that bike with the cargo bags on bag, and even then, I don't foresee any fitment issues whatsoever! You're good to go, Nick.
