Blue Ox Base Plate and Flat Tow Wiring for 2025 Ram 1500 Laramie

Good morning, i am on your web site wanting to get a blue ox base plate and wiring kit for 2025 ram 1500 Laramie it does not show that trim. Also the brake system has to be plugged into power, What do you do if you have a battery disconnect

Hey Douglas! The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU66ER is the correct base plate for your 2025 Ram 1500 Laramie. Blue Ox made an update to this base plate kit so it fits everything except the Tungsten models. Then for wiring I recommend the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267.
What brake system do you have? If it is a portable system like the Curt RVi Series 4 # RVI44FR you need to add the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332 to plug it in. This will still have power if your battery is disconnected. If you have a permanent system like the Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 # RVI94FR it will be connected directly to the battery. I also recommend installing a charge line kit # RM-156-25 if you don't have one since the brake system can drain the battery on long trips.
Do you have a battery disconnect installed already? It is not necessary for this setup so if you don't already have one I wouldn't bother with it.

Hey Douglas, how did things go with the Blue Ox base plate and the wiring setup for your Ram 1500 Laramie? Did the power connection for your brake system work out with the 12-volt outlet kit? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar flat tow system.
