Question:
I have a 2013 Forest River cedar Creek silverback 33rl with Max loaded weight of 14,015 but the unloaded weight is 10,400 to 10,500 and I have the standard solid king pin hitch 1611 and or 1716 and I want to change my old hitch for a Gen Y king pin hitch but there is two hitches one is for 21,000 lbs I dont know the part number and the 2nd one is for 30,000 lbs 8050 both would need shims but if the gen y king pin cant fit another 5th wheel when and if I trade I think the 21,000 might be the one I need what do you think or say. If I was to trade I want a new horizons 5th wheel so would the gen y fit the new 5th wheel. So I would want the 30,000 lbs hitch Gary

Hi Gary; Gen-Y has updated their guide for the pin box fitment and it is now based strictly on GVWR. With a GVWR of 7,275 - 16,360 lbs you need one of the 4.5k tongue weight models. If you have a 1116 or 1716 bolt pattern that would be the # GY45SR. It is important to follow their guidelines so the pin box functions properly. If you get a new 5th wheel and the GVWR is 16,365 - 25,450 lbs you would need to swap it out and move up to the 6.5k tongue weight model.

Hey Gary, how did things go with the Gen-Y pin box for your Cedar Creek? Did the 4.5k tongue weight model end up being the right match for your setup? Your update could make it easier for others choosing between the two weight options.
