Can I Upgrade a 8,000 lbs Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Hitch to 10,000 lbs or 12,000 lbs?

I currently have an 8k e2 wd hitch. I want to go with a 10 or 12k. Can I just buy the new square bars or do I need to buy a whole new kit? Thank you.

Hey Zach, welcome back! You can indeed swap out the spring bars. The head on the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Systems, like your 8K item # FA92-00-0800, is the same for the 6,000 lbs - 12,000 lbs rated systems.
To upgrade to 10,000 lbs, you'll need the 1,000 lbs Replacement Trunnion Spring Bars item # FA92-01-1099.
To upgrade to 12,000 lbs, you'll need the 1,200 lbs Replacement Trunnion Spring Bars item # FA92-01-1299.
You'll also want to make sure your hitch ball is rated for the higher weight. We have the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems item # EQ91-00-6120 that has a 12,000 lbs capacity.
