Is TruXedo Bulkhead Seal Needed When 2022 Chevy Silverado Has a Drop-In Bedliner?

Updated 10/16/2025 | Published 10/14/2025

Question:

Quick question I have. 2022 silverado with a drop in chevy bedliner there are slight gaps on either side of the bedliner on the front bulkheadside by the side rail will I have to put seal tape in those gaps before installing to completely seal the bulkhead? Just wanna make sure before I start installing because instructions say if you have a drop in you dont need to put the seal on. Again small gaps either side of bedliner on top of bulkhead. Let me know what you suggest.

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out!

The TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover # TX272801 already comes with a smaller seal installed so the extra padding of the seal tape strip isn't needed for a drop-in liner, even if you have small gaps on the side.

If you absolutely want to add some seal tape in those gaps as a safety measure that's not going to hurt anything either, so it's completely up to you.
