How To Make Thule T2 Pro XT Bike Rack Work With 5" Fat Tires

Updated 10/20/2025 | Published 10/10/2025

Question:

My bike rack is a Thule T2 Pro XT 9034XT, 9035XT Do you sell an adapter for the Thule T2 Pro XT that allows for use with 4” fat tires? i .e. Front and Rear Wheel holder assemblies, bike trays and ratchet arms… that will allow my Thule T2 Pro XT to carry a folding bike with a 4” fat tire? If so, could you also please send information about what parts are needed to make the change.

Hello Tom, thanks for reaching out. I double checked with Thule and the only way to get a replacement fat tire strap is with a new rear wheel holder assembly part # 7521682001 which is compatible with fat tires up to 5 inches in width.

Will there be any problem carrying a bike with 1¾”, 2” or 3” tires on a Thule T2 Pro XT 9034XT, 9035XT with a 4” cradle?

@TomP That would be just fine. As long as the tire does not exceed 4" diameter, it will work great. Tires smaller than 4" are just fine.
