Do TPMS Sensors Need To Be Removed When Storing Vehicle During The Winter?

Is it advisable to remove your tire minder sensors if you’re storing your vehicle for four or five months during the winter? Or should you just leave them all in place?. What does tire minder company recommend?

Hello Tim, thanks for reaching out, and good question. It is recommended to remove the TPMS sensors when putting your vehicle or trailer in storage. Especially if you will be storing it somewhere with cold winter temperatures. What I hear a lot of people say is they remove the sensors every winter, then reinstall them in the spring with all new batteries.
If your vehicle or trailer is in a weatherproof climate-controlled environment, you could get away with leaving the sensors in place. They are so easy to remove though, I would recommend taking them off either way. If anything just to preserve battery life.
