2020 Tiffin Allegro 22k F53 Chassis - Should Rear Sway Bar Or Steering Stabilizer Be Added First?

Published 10/07/2025

Question:

We have a 2020 Tiffin Allegro 34PA on the 22K Ford F-53 chassis. I’ve read some folks say to add a rear sway bar before a steering stabilizer - should I still go with the Safe-T-Plus ST88MR first? main concern is the movement back and forth on the road.

Cheryl, great question and one we get all the time. The Safe-T-Plus # ST88MR is the quickest way to take that wander out of your steering wheel - it keeps you centered in wind and passing traffic. Rear sway bars reduce lean and body roll, but they won’t fix the on-center “drift” you’re describing.

If you want the biggest immediate difference in how your Allegro feels on the highway, start with the stabilizer. You can always add sway bars later to tighten up the feel even more. Have you noticed more sway or steering play? That’ll help decide which to tackle first.
