Question:

Hello, Are there wireless Trailer lights that use the OBD connection? I found Sail Timers Speedy Trailer Lights, but I have never heard of them. Google AI says they exist but I cant find them. AI not always right? Thanks for your help. Adam

Hello Adam, thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to say we do not offer any wireless trailer lights that plug into the ODB port. I did look up these Sail Timers Speedy Trailer Lights online and it seems like an interesting invention, but I question the reliability of the system. They have a sensor that you zip tie to your blinker which doesn't seem like the most durable solution. Plus I feel like that would make operating the blinker more difficult, and might make it tricky to get your brights and stuff on. Plus you would have to remember tocharge your lights which would be easy to forget. I would have to recommend just wiring the trailer with a standard 4-flat or 7-way harness.

Also, AI is definitely not always right. I use it from time to time and always take the AI answers with a grain of salt. Sometimes it will pull answers out of seemingly thin air with no real sources. A few weeks ago I was using it to look up the towing capacity of a certain vehicle and AI confidently told me the towing capacity was "5 gallons" lol. Still not sure where it got that one from

Jessie, The trailer is wired, the SUV isn't. I was hoping to avoid having to take out interior body panels. My weakness: putting those panels back looking as good as when I took them out. Thanks for your help/advice Adam

@AdamA I gotcha. Yes I can see how the wireless lights would be a good option if you don't want to pull any panels off or do any wiring. We do offer a wiring harness for the 2023 Lexus RX 500h, but it is a universal hardwire harness, the Curt # C59236.
