Question:
Hi, we have a 2021 Ford F150 4WD. We are installing a pickup bed camper and want to add a rear air bag system. The two we are looking at on your web site are the Firestone F2582 and the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 AL47PD. Would you recommend one over the other for our application? Thank you.

Hey Gordon. The best option for your 2021 Ford F-150 are the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F2582. These air bags have a 5,000 lbs load leveling capacity and come with custom fit brackets that bolt directly to your truck.
The Firestone air bags use four layers of reinforced rubber while the Air Lift only has 2-ply rubber. Firestone also has corrosion-resistant metal end plates that use the rolled crimp seal to keep them anchored. This means you can rely on the air bags without worrying about potential for failure.
Please note that the Firestone item # F2582 will not be compatible with the PowerBoost Full Hybrid engine, Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) suspension, or an in bed hitch. The item # AL47PD also has the same limitations.
I also recommend adding the Firestone Air Command item # F2610 to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone.
What model camper do you have?

Hi Jarred, Thank you for getting back to me. We have the Four Wheel Raven Camper. The unit with options came in at 1000lbs, and the weight capacity for our truck is about 1850. A little closer than I would like, but we will be careful not to exceed. And we do not have any of the truck options you mentioned. Actually, we already ordered the Firestone from you guys. I think it's due in today. Thanks again, Gordon
