Question:
hello i have a Thule T2 Pro XTR few years old it is a 11/4 and have a 2 hitch on vehicle. i currently have an adapter, but it is at least a 8-10 long and puts the bike rack quite a ways off the back of vehicle. I could not find an adaptor on your website, but saw a youtube video that you may have something that will work that attaches to the bike rack itself. Hope you can help. Thanks Mark

Hey Mark, so the Thule T2 bike racks like your XTR do not have a way to easily adapt between the two hitch sizes like you are wanting. Only solution would be a new shank for your rack like the part # TH37MY to allow it to fit the 2 inch size directly without an adapter. Do you still need to use the rack with the smaller hitch size?

i did think about that , but didn't realize you had to purchase the whole apparatus, thought it would be just a small bit of the shank. Might as well buy a new one at that price. How much weight is lost by using an extender to go from 1.25" to the 2" into the hitch. I sometimes carry 2 bikes weighing 55lbs each and am a little worried that it is over exceeding the weight capacity of the rack itself.
