Question:

I am trying to replace both left and right side hub and brake assembly. The trailer is a 16 Scamp rv and I cant find the axle serial number. The brake backing plate stamp is, 0508 454 PRI-CC SEC-CC I think 10 X 2 1/4 ELEC AL - KO Is this enough information for you to direct me to the correct replacement parts? Thankyou for your time. Hey Alan. It looks like your 16 Scamp RV has an AL-KO axle and needs a set of 10 x 2-1/4" electric brakes. What I'll need to know to recommend the correct size brakes is the capacity of your axle and the brake mounting flange pattern. Looking at the weights on a 16 Scamp RV you should have a 3,500 lbs axle with a 4 bolt brake flange.

To replace the hubs, I am going to need some information from you to get you the correct ones. I do not have a database I can look up that shows me this information like you can find on cars and trucks. What you'll want to do is pull one of the hubs and look at the two bearings. They should have numbers stamped into the sides of them. I'll need those part numbers to identify your spindle size which will tell me what hub you need.

If they do not have numbers stamped into the side you'll need to measure your spindles using a digital caliper like item # PTW80157. I'll need the C and D dimensions shown in the diagram below.

Additionally, I am also going to need to know your lug nut pattern so you do not have to change wheels. I have linked an FAQ below that'll show you how to measure them.

What year is your 10 x 2-1/4 16 Scamp RV and do you know the specific model or layout?

You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey Alan, did you have a chance to check the bearings for part numbers or measure the spindles with a caliper? I'm eager to help you find the right parts for your Scamp RV.
