Hey Robert,

For your 2020 Tacoma I recommend the etrailer hitch # e98905. This is a simple bolt on installation hitch and features a capacity of 6000lbs for towing. Plenty for the trailer you are wanting to pull.

Along with the hitch you are also going to need wiring if your Tacoma does not have a plug for trailer wiring. For that I recommend the Curt # C56349. This is a simple plug and play installation and gives you a 4 flat trailer wiring plug in the back of the vehicle. If the trailer has a 7 round plug you are going to need to upgrade that 4 flat to a 7 way with our kit # ETBC7.

Do you have a ball mount and stuff to tow or are you brand new looking for a full setup? If the trailer has brakes you are going to need a brake controller as well so let me know if the trailer has brakes.

I'm sorry Nick I already have the towing package through Toyota. I was referring to a Anti weight distribution/anti-sway hitch that goes into my hitch...

@RobertL I must sound like this is my first rodeo, yikes. ANYWAY, yes weight distribution. Those hitches are based off of your tongue weight which is 10-15% of your total trailer weight. Your setup is going to be around 450lbs. To accommodate any cargo you may load, fuel, and water that may increase that weight you are going to want a system rated for around 600lbs. For you I recommend the Reese Pro # RE34FR system. That is going to level out your ride and reduce any sway you may experience leaving you with a much smoother ride. Its a no drill system that just clamps around the frame of your trailer with its included brackets.

what about a Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch w Sway Control? Alot of Toyota Tacoma owners really like this one??? I know it's expensive, is there something just as good but cheaper???

@Robert The Andersen is a solid option. The ones we carry are rated for 1300-1500lbs. The issue with that is you will essentially have something rated for way more weight that what your trailer is. It sounds silly but not having a heavy enough trailer will not allow the hitch to do what it was meant for. It will still work, but it is usually recommended to get something close to your trailers tongue weight for best performance. If there is an Andersen one rated for 500-600lbs then I would go with that, we just do not carry one.

@Robert That Redarc, # RED52VR, is by far the most popular for Toyota owners so I highly recommend it.

@NickS I think I already have the plug from the factory install, so the one you recommended is for without it...so which one is if I already have the plug???

@Robert It'll be the # RED68CR for you since you have that factory plug. A comparable one to the Reese is going to be the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR rated for the same weight as the Reese.
