Question:
I have a 2017 Toyota Tundra TRDPro and a 2025 Airstream Trade Winds 23FBQ. I am looking for a weight distributing hitch but not sure how to determine what size I need and what option is the best. I would prefer to have some sort of sway control as well.

Hi Mark!
I looked up the specs for a 2025 Airstream Trade Winds 23FBQ and the fully loaded maximum tongue weight it will have is 600 pounds. We have some good options for that weight capacity, like the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # FA92-00-0800, which is the one I recommend (you will also need either the 2" ball # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16" ball # EQ91-00-6100 as I couldn't tell which your Airstream has). Its tongue weight range 400 to 800 pounds, putting you right in the middle (this is the best place to be when choosing a weight distribution system), and it does a very good job of controlling sway.
The only potential issue is the propane tanks on the front of your Airstream. I couldn't find anywhere saying where they sit in relation to the coupler, but the brackets for the spring bars on the e2 system will need to fit 27" to 30" back from the center of the coupler. If you can't get that to work, you would need to go with something like the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control for 2" Hitch - 7.5K GTW, 750 lbs TW # BXW0750 and add the # BXW4021 Lift Brackets. These brackets allow you to clamp around the frame (3" to 6" high) and typically gets you around propane thanks mounted the tongue of the trailer. This will be more expensive, but is still a very nice set up. I just think the Fastway e2 offers better sway control.
Out of curiosity, have you pulled the Airstream with your Tundra yet?
