Hello Ed, thanks for reaching out. It is possible to replace your old Carrier unit with an Advent. This will mean replacing the rooftop unit, controller, distribution box and thermostat. The new Advent units use the new R32 refrigerant, and these AC units are not backwards compatible with old AC systems. So if you want to switch to an Advent unit, I recommend the following:
- Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - White - R32 # ADV92SR

Hey Ed, did you decide to go with the Advent Air unit for your camper? I'm curious to know how the installation went and if everything is cooling as expected. Let me know how it worked out, as it could really help others in a similar situation!
