Are Scrubblade Heavy Duty Windshield Wiper Blades Good For Icy Conditions
Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/14/2025 >
Question:
these scrubblades say they are all weather, but all the winter blades Ive bought for the last 30 years are encased, not open frame. Will these still flex when the weather is icy?

Hello Kirk, thanks for reaching out. The Scrubblade windshield wipers were designed for the purpose or scrubbing dead bugs and other dirt and grime off a windshield. They work great for that purpose and are used a lot by truckers who rack up a ton of miles driving cross country. They are made to work in all weather conditions, and they will still flex in the cold. Obviously the cold can make the rubber slightly more rigid compared to the summer heat, but the frame would still be allowed to flex as intended.
The scrubbing blades can work for very thin ice and frost, but in full honestly, they are not intended for moderate to severe icy conditions. Ice buildup will not "scrub" off like most dirt and grime would.
