Question:
I have a 2017 GMC Yukon XL 4WD 1500 and want to improve my towing experience with my 242 Jayco Camper. I’ve installed the Timbren absorbers front and back so far. I’ve have the current air ride rear suspension but thinking of upgrading the shocks and eliminating those airbags, what components would you recommend? Shocks, Struts and the rear sway bar?

Hey Ron! What exactly are you experiencing when towing your Jayco? Is it the Jayco Jay Flight 242BHS? You have already added quite a bit to your 2017 GMC Yukon XL so I'm not sure adding more will be the solution. If your shocks and struts are worn out then that is probably a good idea regardless but I don't think you need to upgrade them otherwise.
Are you using a weight distribution hitch (WDH) like the # WS79VR? If you have rear sag and are experiencing sway adding a WDH to your trailer is the best solution. You might also consider adding upgraded equalizers to the trailer like the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-652-00 which will help smooth out the ride from the trailer side. I have these on my Jayco Jay Feather 27BHB along with a WDH and they make a big difference towing with an Expedition that has no suspension enhancement on it.
If you can give me some more information in the comments below I think we can narrow this down and come up with the best addition to your setup.
