Question:

Dear Tech, My existing dingy tow harness has failed and is causing the tail lights to strobe or not function at all. I have a 2024 Jeep wrangler sport, Invisibrake system. This jeep also has an aftermarket tow bar and 4 wire trailer hookup. I need a new harness that plugs into the factory tailight harness and allows the brake and running lights to function when the jeep is being towed behind our motorhome. Please let me know which harness is the most reliable and is hopefully a plug and play hookup. Thank you

Hey James, welcome back! The only plug and play wiring harness I have for flat towing is the Curt Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles item # C96JR. This has a 4-way connector that plugs into your motorhome. This plug and play harness connects directly to your 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sport behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights.

Please note that if you have a 4-way trailer connector like item # 56407 you won't be able to use it will you're flat towing your Jeep. The two harnesses can be connected together along with your tail light plugs but only one of them can be used at a time.

What kind of connector are you using to control your Jeep's lighting functions? Is it a round 7-way or a 4-way flat? You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hello Jarrod and thank you for your quick reply. The accessories shop installed a 4 wire plug connector at the front to connect to the motorhome, in addition to a 2 wire connector for the brake light indicator on the dash of the motorhome. At the rear they intalled a 7 pin receptacle, but only 4 wires are going into it. I will only use this receptacle when towing a small utility trailer when the jeep is not being used as a dingy. I will never be towing something behind the jeep when it is being towed behind the rv. Again, Thank you. Jim.

@JerredH I just ordered, thank you. Also, I recently purchased from Etrailer is the Furrion 7" monitor for my pickup, as an upgrade from the small screen that came with my truck camper. I use the USB cord to power the monitor and the plug where it plugs into the dash USB port gets rather warm. Does Furrion offer a 12v power cord that I can hardwire into my truck? My truck is a 2025 Chevrolet and 12v cigarette lighter receptacles are no longer provided by the truck manufacturer. Please let me know if there is such a patch cord available that plugs into the Furrion monitor- to fuse box or battery. Thank you Kindly, Jim.

@JamesE You're welcome! There's no way to hardwire the 7" Monitor for Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Camera System item # FR47FR. Some people just cut the connector off and wire it in themselves but I would not recommend this. The only solution I have for you, over using your USB port, is to install the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps item # RM-9332. This will add a cigarette lighter port to your Silverado.
