Hey Gary, thanks for reaching out. You will want to make sure you are loosening the hand knob as much as possible before attempting to remove the rack from the hitch. If there is any tension left on the wedge it will make it hard to remove. Dirt, debris and rust can also make accessories harder to remove, so cleaning the inside of your receiver may help. Also, if you leave the rack in the receiver for extended periods of time without removing it, it can make it much harder to remove.

Usually what I will do when something is stuck in the hitch is try to lift up on the bike rack slightly while kind of "wiggling" the rack back and forth. Sometimes just the downward weight of the rack can make it stick in the receiver. Lifting up and wiggling it as you try to pull it out of the hitch is usually enough to make it come loose. Or just grab the rack near the bottom of the upright post and pull really hard. Make sure you are pulling straight out and not at a downward or upward angle.
