Knob of Yakima Ridgeback Bike Rack Just Spins and Will Not Loosen

Question:
We installed the 2inch version and twisted the red triangular knob to secure it tightly. Now we want to remove it and the knob just turns freely and does not release so we cannot pull the unit out of the hitch. Any suggestions?

The knob on the Ridgeback # Y02458 turns freely when it is locked. First make sure that it is unlocked. If it is or if it still will not turn you pay have to pull back or push in on the knob while turning it at the same time so there is enough tension to engage the mechanisms inside the bike rack shank.
