How To Remove Stuck SpeedKnob on Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack

Question:
Hi. I think I need to order a new speedknob and wedge assembly for my Yakima Ridgeback 4-bike rack. I watched your excellent video associated with the new part, but it doesnt show where you remove the existing speedknob and wedge. I cant turn the knob at all since the threads are stripped, therefore I cant remove the existing assembly. Any suggestions on how to remove the faulty speedknob? Ive tried holding the end/wedge with a wrench and turning the knob. Maybe I need another person to turn the knob for me for better leverage. Thanks in advance. Just trying to determine whether to order the new speedknob or a new bike rack :

I spoke with Yakima about removing the SpeedKnob on the Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack and she stated that you need to just use more force since the threads are likely stripped. The other option which would not require excessive force would be to take some sort of blade or saw and cut off the knob directly at the rear. This can then be replaced with the Replacement SpeedKnob and Wedge Assembly for Yakima Bike Racks part # 8880508.
