I am looking for a spare tire mount for my Leisure Travel Van Tire size is LT215/85R16 I also will be flat towing a 2025 Ford Maverick. Which carrier do you recommend?

Hey Alan,
For a spare tire carrier that can also allow flat towing I recommend the Roadmaster # RM-195225. This is a tire carrier that fits a variety of wheel sizes, including your 16" one on your travel van now. As well as all bolt hole patterns. This also allows you to flat tow with a 10,000lb capacity it will be great for towing your Maverick with all the goodies you want to load into it. It fits into standard 2" x 2" hitch receivers so I would just double check yours is that standard size.
And to answer your second question, the shank is not entirely solid. It has some hollow portions for where a hitch pin would need to go through. The rest of it is heavy duty steel construction.

Hey Alan, Did the Roadmaster spare tire carrier work well for your setup with the Leisure Travel Van and the Maverick? I'm asking because your experience could really help others looking to flat tow with a similar setup.
