I am looking for a spare tire mount for my Leisure Travel Van Tire size is LT215/85R16 I also will be flat towing a 2025 Ford Maverick. Which carrier do you recommend?

Hey Alan,
For a spare tire carrier that can also allow flat towing I recommend the Roadmaster # RM-195225. This is a tire carrier that fits a variety of wheel sizes, including your 16" one on your travel van now. As well as all bolt hole patterns. This also allows you to flat tow with a 10,000lb capacity it will be great for towing your Maverick with all the goodies you want to load into it. It fits into standard 2" x 2" hitch receivers so I would just double check yours is that standard size.
And to answer your second question, the shank is not entirely solid. It has some hollow portions for where a hitch pin would need to go through. The rest of it is heavy duty steel construction.
