Hey Mike,
The metal post on the guide-ons # CE27635 are going to be 38" long, from the notch that the PVC pipe sits on to the bottom it is 11.8". The metal post goes up 27" total into the PVC pipe.
What kind of trailer are you wanting to put these on?

I am putting them on a Magic Tilt tandem axile trailer with a 28' Monterey Sport Yacht on it . The ones i am replacing are 72 inches high with a curve like your older model no notch and the pipe goes to the bottom and 42 inches of pipe is up inside. The reason I was asking is one of my guides got bent when I was taking the boat out with a wind and the boat blew against it. I thing I weakened it after bending it back, and it cracked eventually broke off from vibration. I just thought the more material in the pipe is better. My originals have a 1 1/2" square pipe 1/16' thickness that didn't stand up to the task which I believe is the same size as CE Smith. The plus side of the CE Smith design, I think, it has more support with the 90 degree bolt on 90 degree bend that has a gusset effect to prevent the bending that I had. I'd feel allot better with another 12 inches in the pipe, i have to give it some thought. Thank you
