Recommended Hitch for a 2023 Toyota Prius LE

Updated 09/09/2025 | Published 06/09/2025

Question:

I have a 2023 Prius LE that I want to attach a bike rack to but the only thing Toyota shows me is for on top of my Prius. Can you recommend a hitch for my car that would hold a 50-100lb ebike and a location near 37620, Kingsport TN where it could be put on? thank you very much ahead of time.

Hey Carrie. To add a hitch to your 2023 Toyota Prius LE, you'll want the Curt item # C67RJ. This class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver has a 200 lbs tongue weight capacity. This is the highest rated hitch for you Prius.

For a bike rack that holds a 50 lbs 100 lbs bike you're going to be pretty limited with a class I hitch. Our highest capacity single bike bike rack is the Saris MHS DUO item # SAR23MR. This wheel mounted bike rack has a 80 lbs capacity. You do not want to use it if your bike has fenders.

For a frame mounted bike rack, our highest capacity one is the Thule Epos Bike Rack w/ LEDs for 2 Bikes item # TH49XE. This bike rack works great with bikes that have fenders. It has a 75 lbs capacity per bike.

For an installer near your area, if you go to the product page of the Curt Hitch item # C67RJ scroll down below the pics on the left side you'll see a box that says, SCHEDULE AN INSTALLATION. Go ahead and click on it and it will take you to a page where you'll be able to enter your zip code. Once you do this you'll be connected to our network of reputable installers in your area.

What kind of bike do you have? You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey Carrie, did you have a chance to check out the Curt hitch and see if it fits your needs for your Prius? I'd love to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others looking to do the same.

@JerredH After much consideration and being told that the recommended hitch would not fit oil under my Prius and would negate part of the warranty we decided to just always use a different car. Thank you so much I appreciate all of the help.
