Solution for B and W Patriot Slider Hitch that Has Movement In Head After Couple of Years

Updated 06/09/2025 | Published 06/05/2025

Question:

24k bandw slider about 2 years old. Recently started having a lot of noise when stopping and starting coming from my hitch. I’ve been trying to locate a culprit and have noticed the head on my hitch has a lot of slop. Is this from bushings maybe wearing? I perform the regular maintenance.

Hey Logan, it basically is what you suspect and over time the clearances in the hitch have worn out to the point you are hearing and feeling the noise you described. The only solution we have would be a new hitch head part # BWRVC3200 but you might try B and W directly to see if they would warranty it as hitch should have a lifetime warranty.

Would the problem be the head itself or the arms with the bushings that the head connects to?

@Logan Most likely its in the head BUT I would take it apart and see if you can see what looks worn. It's possible the bushings on the arms so it's worth checking.
