Looking For A Ramp Assist Spring For My Big Tex Trailer

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/19/2025

Question:

Older Big Tex SA30 5x10. Need some sort of ramp assist spring that mounts to the horizontal pivot rod shaft. Diameter unknown. Prefer no bed rail mounted cable spring. At 70 yrs old, getting harder to lift the expanding metal ramp door. Thanks

Hey William,

We have a ramp spring that mounts to a 1-1/2" diameter round shaft. Parts # M376FR, and # M366FR, one for the left side one for the right side. This is the only kind we have that mounts to a pivot rod, but is going to provide additional support for you lifting that ramp. I recommend measuring your pivot shaft with a caliper to see if this is going to work for you.

Let me know if you are able to measure that pivot shaft to see if this is going to be a fit for you.

Hey William, Did you have a chance to measure the pivot shaft to see if the ramp spring I mentioned would fit your trailer? I'm eager to help you find the right solution to make lifting the ramp easier for you.

@NickS. No, not yet. I'll wait until my son returns my trailer and pickup the issue then. Thanks for checking back.
