Most trailer wiring kits need connectors on both sides of the car, but this one keeps it easy. The Curt T-Connector taps into the main tail light wiring on one side only, since that’s where the factory harness runs. It’s a cleaner setup with fewer steps and less panel removal during the install.
Instead of splicing wires or chasing down circuits, this harness plugs straight into the existing tail light connector. The factory-style plugs snap in place to give you a secure link for your trailer lights without damaging your vehicle wiring.
With its 4-flat end, the harness provides all the basics—running lights, turn signals, and brake lights—for most small trailers. It’s a simple, reliable connection that works with standard trailer wiring so you can hook up and go.
The harness stays tucked out of sight once installed, keeping things neat behind panels and trim. You get a hidden finish that looks like it came from the factory while still having easy access to the 4-flat plug when it’s time to tow.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number C56046. This is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with your 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This is going to fit certain years and models of the Chevrolet Impala. It's going to provide your 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately. It's going to come with a dust cap for the 4-way flat connector.
That way you can cover up those connection points when the plug is not being used. The main benefit of this system is not only the 4-way flat connector, but it's designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to cut or splice any wires. All you have to do is locate the connection points behind the passenger side tail light and plug in your T-connector. This is vehicle specific.
This is designed to match up perfectly with the connectors on your vehicle. You are going to plug them. They're going to snap-lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Once you have that connected, you'll need to make your ground connection. It's going to be a white wire with a ring terminal attached to it. You can make that ground connection to a nice, clean metal surface with the included self-tapping screw that's provided in the hardware kit.
Then you can go ahead and secure your excess wires with the included zip ties. Then once your installation is complete, the 4-way connector is going to be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your rear cargo area when it's not being used. That's going to come with your detailed instructions. These are going to walk you through the installation process step-by-step. We recommend that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pole connector itself. That's going to help prevent corrosion.

It looks like an excellent product, well made and easy to use. That said, I need to return it. When I opened up the taillight assembly, there was a complete adapter already there, coiled up behind the taillight.
This product was very easy to install you do need a drill for the ground wire this was needed for the trailer hitch that I put on.
Very easy install for 2010 Impala. Literally remove three thumb screws, remove tail-light, unplug connector and plug the harness in. There was already a grommet below the tail-light so I could route the 4-pole end into the trunk.
After watching the video I installed the wiring harness in no time. Extremely easy. Free shipping and recieved my package in three days.
Also installed the C12252 trailer hitch. Not much to it. 6 bolts and it's on. My only regret is not purchasing the drawbar too. I will now end up ordering one from etrailer and paying shipping.

The wiring harness for trailer lights is truly a plug and play with VERY easy installation and the length of connecting harness is long enough to reach any trailer hookup you may have.

At first was confused since I thought it would connect to each brake light. But Chevy ran everything to one tail light then over to the other so just one connection. The wire is heavy enough it can take me shutting the trunk over it. I have used this now for close to a year and used it a lot. So it is a good solid product

After all this time, I give it a 5* still. The electrical connections are good, works the way it should. I haul my trailer about 230mi each way and have made many trips with the hook up and works great

I searched for quite some time for a custom fit wiring harness for my 2015 Impala Limited which is the old body style starting, I believe, in 2006. Once Chevrolet came out with a new body style in, I believe, 2014 for the name Impala, the old style became the Impala Limited. Some manufacturers don't even recognize the Impala Limited at all. The Curt 56046 custom vehicle to trailer wiring harness with the application for only the Impala 06 through 2013 is also a custom plug in fit for the newer Impala Limited. At lease the 2014 and the 2015. You find the plug behind the passenger side tail light, plug in the T-connector, route the wiring through an existing hole to keep it in the trunk, or run it directly to the hitch under the trunk. I'm extremely pleased with the product.

the harness was wrong I called and was told it had to be right I went to a shop and was told it was wrong all photos of product showed the same harness by this time i just tapped into car harness and cut the ends off curt harness and thru the rest out I think this is a failure at curt but I didnt get much help from your tech line
Easy plug and play just plug it into a body panel have (not used it) but it probably works for what I am using it for
I would get five stars, but they sent back to the warehouse and then I had the call customer service
