2023 jeep grand cherokee L, Overland 3 row seating model. I have an excalibar demco towbar and am looking at a few different demco baseplates. The jeep is new to us and I am having trouble verifying what other components we may need such as: Base plate recommendation? Recommended light wiring/splice kit? Do I need the battery kit so the battery is not dead upon arrival? Does the 2023 require the MOPAR RV towing wiring harnesskit? Thank you in advance!! Have a great day! Eric

Hey Eric! Since you have the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Overland you will not be able to use a Demco base plate kit. Not to worry, there are adapters available for compatibility with other brands. Instead, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM77ZR with the Demco Tow Bar Adapter Brackets # DM9523032.
For wiring I recommend the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267. Also yes, you need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 to keep your battery charged. Do you have a supplemental braking system already? If not, I recommend the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251 or, if you have air brakes on the motorhome, the Air Force One # SM99243.
Regarding MOPAR harness #82216418AA, we know it may be required but it varies between models and we don't have the specifics. You will need to check with your local dealer to see if it is required to flat tow your Jeep. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out in the comments below.
