Question:
The replacement Firestone Coil-Rite helper spring Part Number: F6027 includes a flat spacer. Is this spacer necessary or optional when installing F4176 in a 2016 VW Golf SportWagon? Another site selling Coil-Rite kits for VW include these spacers. Air Lift Leveling Kit - 2016-2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen 1.8L 4-Cylinder - Firestone Ride-Rite 136933-03619842. Just wondering what the spacers are for. Thanks!

Hey Bill! The Replacement Air Spring for Firestone Coil-Rite Rear-Axle Kits 4167, 4168, 4176 and 4183 item # F6027 fits quite a few different air bag kits like the item # F4176. Some of these kits require a spacer.
When you install the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F4176 on a 2016 VW Golf SportWagen you do not need a spacer, which is why there isn't a set included with the kit. The spacers are typically required when the air bags are mounted with the air inlet facing down. These install facing up on the Golf SportWagen.
