Hinge Plate Clearance Needed For Installing A Flip Tread RV Steps

Question:
When securing the hinge inside the unit how far must the hinge be from the door sill?

The hinge plate of the MORryde Flip Tread RV Steps item # MR42UR is 4-1/4" in depth so you have some room to work with. According to MORryde, you will need 5-1/2" of clearance inside the door threshold to fold up the steps. I attached a picture below from the instructions to show you.
